Melanie is a mum to her 26 year old daughter who has schizophrenia and co-founder of the Clozapine Support Group UK, who has become a prominent voice in discussions around clozapine treatment and monitoring reform in the UK. Drawing on her experience supporting, caring and advocating for her daughter and long term clozapine therapy, she has worked extensively with clinicians, researchers, regulators and policymakers to advocate for evidence based changes to clozapine monitoring requirements. Melanie has contributed to national conversations on balancing patient safety with access to treatment and reducing barriers to care.
