David Taylor has authored around 500 journal papers and is also the originator, editor, and author of the Maudsley Prescribing Guidelines series. He has pioneered numerous innovations in the use of clozapine, including capillary full blood counts, genetic testing and point-of-care clozapine blood concentration testing. He was the foundation president of the CMHP and he is the only pharmacist to be made a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
